What To Do?

This really is the ultimate question is it not?

People with the aim of improving their health usually start here. What do I do? Who should I listen to? What should I believe? These are the questions.

So how do we figure these questions out? There are many ways to climb a mountain, but I will attempt to explain how to make climbing a bit easier.

The following is a short list of the steps that I would recommend if the goal is improving health and well-being.

  1. Decide that you want to get better and realize the possibility is there.
  2. Ask yourself if you are committed to putting in the work it takes to get better. A system of note keeping is very helpful.
  3. Understand that you do not make the rules. People do not make the rules. The rules are already there, and it is up to you to find them, follow them and correct wherever you are not adhering to them.
  4. Realize that improvement may take time.
  5. Be ready for challenges.
  6. Realize that we live in a place where mental, emotional, and spiritual factors matter greatly and that we cannot be healthy without addressing these issues as well as the physical.

This is not a complete list, but more of a basic way to understand some of the principles that are required.

Bottom Line?

We are the operators of our own lives. We have free will. The Journey to health, happiness, and wholeness is dependent primarily on our will and dedication to get there. There are short cuts, which I have come to believe are working diligently on your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. As you get healthier and wiser, then you will understand the importance of these issues and work on physical health from a better place. Not only are health, happiness, and purpose good for us; but they are a higher calling.
